USC Sumter's Bigger Wednesday Golf Tournament Date Announced

Fundraiser Will Take Place Friday, November 20

by Alethia Hummel

Sumter, SC (10/30/2020) — The University of South Carolina Sumter has announced plans for their 27th Annual Bigger Wednesday celebration. This year the event will only include the Golf Tournament, which will be held Friday, November 20.

Bigger Wednesday commemorates the Clemson/Carolina football game that is traditionally played at the end of November, but this year due to Covid-19, the game was cancelled. Fans can still show their team spirit at the Bigger Wednesday golf tournament held this year at The Links at Lakewood Golf Course (3600 Green View Parkway). The tournament is a four-person captain's choice format and is $50 per player, which includes green and cart fees, gift pack, breakfast, lunch and beverages. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Each team must have a combined handicap of at least 40 with no more than one "A" player with an 8 handicap per team. Mulligans will be available for purchase and prizes will be awarded to winners in various categories.

Sponsorships for the golf tournament are available. All proceeds help support student scholarships at USC Sumter. Together with the USC Sumter Alumni Association, we can ensure continued growth, excellence and progress to increase the university's ability to award scholarships and fulfill their goal of lessening the financial burden on students.

Visit uscsumter.edu for more information and to register for golf. If you have questions or are interested in sponsoring, please call Stacy Nance at 803-938-3777.
