USC Sumter Hosts Fall Festival
Event will include Trick or Treating, Haunted Houses, Scary Story Time and Goats
Sumter, SC (10/24/2025) — The University of South Carolina Sumter, will be hosting a Fall Festival, October 30, 6 - 9 pm. This free event is open to the public and was created to offer the Sumter community a safe place to celebrate Halloween.
The evening will include activities that will appeal to all ages. Children and adults are encouraged to come in costume and follow the candy trail to trick or treat at various buildings across the USC Sumter campus. The Student Union Building (SUB) will be open, allowing all to visit the USC Sumter Bookstore, watch a seasonal movie on the video wall, or enjoy the Fire Ant Cafe for those wanting to purchase food or beverages. Two haunted houses will be open for attendees. One attraction will be in the Nettles Building, from 7 - 11 pm, and is geared towards brave, older children and adults. There is a suggested donation of $10 per person for the Nettles haunted house. The second is free and touted as a not-so-spooky haunted hallway for younger children in the Business Administration Building. Students from USC Sumter's Millpond Review will tell scary stories on the steps of the Anderson Library. Kids will enjoy inflatable obstacle courses and adults can try their hand at axe throwing. The Pelican's and Roast N' Roll food trucks will be in attendance selling frozen treats and specialty coffee drinks. Lastly, there will be costumed goats available for photos and petting, along with a few other individual vendors to help attendees get into the Halloween spirit.
