USC Sumter Earns Gold Award

Sumter, SC (04/25/2017) — The University of South Carolina Sumter's Office of Marketing and Public Relations earned a Gold award in the 32nd Annual Educational Advertising Awards competition for the Public Relations Plan and Promotion of the 50th Anniversary.

The 50th Anniversary was an opportunity to reflect on USC Sumter's success, thank supporters and celebrate the future. Some of the key events from the Anniversary year include a permanent statue dedication created through a partnership between USC Sumter and the Welding Program at Central Carolina Technical College; a formal Donor Gala in the fall; a history video that recaps 50 years of student, alumni and faculty stories; a permanent history display in the Nettles Building Lobby; and finally, a time capsule dedication in December.

The Education Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most prestigious advertising awards competition, with more than 3,500 entries submitted from every state in the country and multiple foreign countries.

"To be recognized by the Higher Education Marketing Report is certainly an honor," said Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Misty Hatfield. "We are thrilled that our peers acknowledge the year-long effort to promote the value and the history of the university."

For 32 years, the Higher Education Marketing Report has been the nation's leading marketing publication for higher-education marketing professionals. To see the complete list of winners, visit:http://educationaladvertisingawards.com/winners-list/winners-list-2017/#WinnersList.
