Bigger Wednesday Tradition Continues at USC Sumter
Sumter, SC (10/28/2019) — The University of South Carolina Sumter has announced plans for their 26th Annual Bigger Wednesday celebration. This year the event will be spread across two days. The Carolina-Clemson Tailgate Party, presented by the USC Sumter Alumni Association, will be held Wednesday, November 20 and the Golf Tournament will be held Friday, November 22.
The Tailgate Party will take place inside the gymnasium of the Nettles Building on the USC Sumter campus (200 Miller Road). Dinner will be served 6:30 - 7:30 pm and is catered by Willie Sue's. Tailgate Party tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and children 4 and older (3 and under are free). Enjoy a variety of entertainment including music from D.J. Howie "D," special appearances and complimentary face painting. There will be door prizes and the opportunity to purchase your favorite tailgate merchandise.
Show your team spirit at the golf tournament held this year at The Links at Lakewood Golf Course (3600 Green View Parkway). The tournament is a four-person captain's choice format and is $50 per player, which includes green and cart fees, gift pack, lunch and beverages. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Each team must have a combined handicap of at least 40 with no more than one "A" player with an 8 handicap per team. Mulligans will be available for purchase and prizes will be awarded to winners in various categories.
Sponsorships for both Bigger Wednesday events are available. All proceeds help support student scholarships at USC Sumter. Together with the USC Sumter Alumni Association, we can ensure continued growth, excellence and progress to increase the university's ability to award scholarships and fulfill their goal of lessening the financial burden on students.
