USC Sumter Students Earn NJCAA All-Academic Honors

Sumter, SC (07/15/2020) — The University of South Carolina Sumter is proud to announce 13 of their student athletes earned All-Academic status from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The academic honor is achieved by student athletes who have an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the academic year.

"We are excited to have 13 of our student athletes (from 6 different teams) represented on this list," said Adrienne Cataldo, USC Sumter Athletic Director. "It is a great accomplishment to be able to keep a 3.6 GPA or higher as a student athlete, especially during the last semester which was complicated by Covid-19. I am very proud of all of them."

USC Sumter students that earned the All-Academic designation include:

1st Team NJCAA All-Academic - 4.0 GPA

2nd Team NJCAA All-Academic - 3.80 GPA -3.99 GPA

3rd Team NJCAA All-Academic - 3.79 GPA - 3.6 GPA

"We are very proud of the hard work that both the student athletes and coaches put into both their sports and their academics," added Michael Sonntag, Ph.D., USC Sumter Campus Dean. "I'm also thankful for all the faculty and staff who work hard with the students and support the coaches in their efforts to keep our athletes on the path to success. It is truly a team effort and we are proud of their accomplishments."
