Swan Con: Sumter's Comic Arts Festival Dates Announced

Sumter, SC (02/18/2020) — The University of South Carolina Sumter, in conjunction with the Sumter County Cultural Commission, will be hosting Swan Con, Sumter's Comic Arts Festival, on March 6 at USC Sumter and March 7 at Patriot Hall.

This annual two-day free event celebrates comic art by bringing together creators and fans. There is an exciting line-up of guests this year including: Rich Tommaso, Noah Van Sciver, and Rachel Lindsay. A variety of vendors have signed on to feature their sci-fi, comic and collectible wares, as well as a cosplay contest for fans to show their creativity and win awards.

The goal of this event is to bring comic artists to Sumter, SC, to exhibit their work and lecture on their craft. Guest speakers will be talking about their past and current projects. Question and answer sessions will follow each presentation and opportunities to purchase and have works signed will be available. All of the Swan Con activities are free and open to the public.

10:00 AM - Doors Open, vendors available all day

10:00 AM - Escape Room opens and runs all day

11:00 AM - Comic Creators Panel: Rich Tommaso, Noah Van Sciver, and Rachel Lindsay

1:00 PM - Movie, 24 Hour Comic (1.5 hours) 3:30 PM - Cosplay Contest, open to all ages. First, second and third place awards will be given.
