Alyson Shelton of Summerton, SC was Recognized for Academic Achievement in Psychology at the USC Sumter Academic Awards Ceremony.

Each year the Committee of Psychology Teachers of The American Psychological Association (APA) solicits nominations of outstanding psychology students from member faculty. Students are recognized by USC Sumter Psychology Faculty for excellent academic accomplishments in psychology classes and overall academic performance.

Michael Howard was co-author of a psychology research paper presented at the 2014 annual meeting of the South Carolina Psychological Association. The paper, titled The Privilege Walk: A Comparison of Ethnicity, Gender and Financial Correlations, was awarded first place in the undergraduate research competition. This is the second time in as many years that USC Sumter students have won this award.
